Gov, CM greets people on Nauroz
Srinagar: Governor N. N. Vohra has greeted people on the auspicious occasion of Nauroz, which is also observed as World Arbour Day.
In his message of felicitations, the Governor observed that this festival has important cultural and religious significance and appealed that one and all should join hands in planting trees for saving our rapidly deteriorating environment.
The Governor hoped that this auspicious day would be the harbinger of peace, progress and prosperity in the State.
Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti has felicitated people of the State on the occasion of Nauroz.
In her message on the occasion, the Chief Minister hoped the festival, which she said has religious and cultural significance, becomes harbinger of peace, progress and prosperity for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
This day also marks the beginning of plantation season in the State.
Mehbooba Mufti appealed people to join hands on this occasion in planting more and more trees for preserving the environment.
National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Working President Mr. Omar Abdullah on Monday greeted the people of the State on the eve of Navroz. Praying for peace and prosperity in the State, Dr. Farooq and Mr. Omar Abdullah highlighted the State’s rich legacy and inheritance of brotherhood and amity.
In their greeting message on Navroz-e-Alam, Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Mr.Omar Abdullah expressed hope that the day will herald peace, prosperity and progress in the State and the country while reminding the significance of March 21 as the World Arbour Day.
NC General Secretary Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar, Additional General Secretary Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani and Chief Spokesperson Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi have also greeted people on the occasion of Navroz.
Senior Congress leader and Former Minster and Parliamentarian Tariq Hameed Kara has felicitated the people on the auspicious occasion of Nauroz.
Kara while greeting the people on the occasion said in his message of felicitation, that the festival has both cultural and religious significance and teaches us communal brotherhood . He hoped that this auspicious day would be the harbinger of peace, progress and prosperity in the State.
