Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir government is trying its best to find the truth behind braid chopping cases in the state, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti said on Monday.
“We are trying our best to crack the case and bring those involved [in braid chopping] to book,” said Mehbooba while talking to reporters on the sidelines of a function at Dal lake in Srinagar.
She said a team of doctors is meeting the victims to help in the investigation.
Authorities have so far been clueless, even as the government has announced a reward of Rs six lakh on information leading to arrest of braid choppers.
Dozens of incidents have been reported from various parts of the Valley, spooking the people, especially women.
