Incidents of Braid chopping; Ganderbal police hold public meeting in Kangan, and Gund areas

    Ganderbal: In continuation to braid cutting incidents, a police public meeting was held at Police Station Kangan and Gund which was chaired by SDPO Kangan Shri. Umar Shah, SHO Kangan Shri Manzoor Ahmad, where SHO Gund and ASI Gund conducted Police Public meeting at Gund.
    Respectable citizens from Kangan and Gund areas of Ganderbal participated in the meeting. Many issues especially the braid chopping incidents were raised during the meet. The people were asked to beware of rumour mongers and not to pay any heed to unconfirmed and unverified news items.
    The Kangan and Gund police urged the general public to maintain law and order in area and were urged not to restore to lynching and mob violence in any form and in case of any incident to cooperate with police and let them the law take its course, police said.
    The participants showed positive response and assured they will help the police in dealing braid chopping issues to maintain the peace on ground.
    The participants were advised to keep vigil in their areas and inform the police on their helpline numbers as and when they found any suspicious movement/person. They were also informed that not to pay heed to the rumors and instead cooperate with police in nabbing the anti social elements involved in creating the fear.
