‘In Mehbooba’s Kashmir, home is also insecure for us’
Srinagar: Opposition National Conference (NC) women leaders and activists on Tuesday protested against the growing incidents of mysterious braid chopping in Kashmir.
The women protesters led by MLA Habba Kadal, Shameema Firdous carried out a protest from Nawai Subah to Polo View here to protest against the ‘failure of government in tracing the culprits behind the mysterious braid chopping incidents’.
The NC protesters chanted slogans against the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti led regime and against the braid choppers.
Talking to reporters, the NC MLA, Shameema Firdous according to KNS correspondent, said that the government has failed to ensure safety and security of womenfolk in Kashmir. “The government has no right to rule the people when they fail to ensure their safety. The state government led by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti must resign,” she added.
She said that it is unfortunate that the Home Minister, Mehbooba Mufti as being a woman has failed to ensure the safety of woman’s dignity in Kashmir.
MLA Habba Kadal also said that the womenfolk are feeling insecure even inside their homes. “Why the government has failed to ensure the security of a woman,” she questioned.
She also said that the government is duty bound to ensure the safety of womenfolk and the administration to nab the culprits behind these incidents at the earliest so that the people here could a feel a sigh of relief.
