However, there is chances of light rain or snow at isolated places over Jammu and Kashmir during the next 24 hours, he said.
The weather will again turn totally dry during the subsequent 72 hours, he added. There is nothing abnormal in the dry weather during January, he said adding ”We witness similar weather conditions. We still expect snow this and subsequent months,” he added.

Met spokesman said the minimum temperature at Kupwara recorded about two degree improvement as against yesterdays minus 5.4 degree, it was minus 3.8 degree, still a notch below normal.

There was very light snowfall at world famous ski resort of Gulmarg early in the morning, a hotel owner told UNI over phone. However, the upper reaches, including Khilanmarg and Affarwat, the highest skiing point connected by Cable Car, received light snowfall. Due to cloudy sky during the night accompanied by very light snow, the minimum temperature witnessed two degree surge. Against yesterday’s minus 6 degree, it was minus 4 degree, about four notches above normal.
