J&K HC suspends Sub-Judge for involvement in rape case
Jammu, Jan 18 The Jammu and Kashmir High Court on Thursday suspended the Sub-Judge Leave Reserve, who was booked by the Police, allegedly in a rape case.
According to the order issued by Registrar General of J&K High Court Sanjay Dhar, an FIR has been registered against Rajesh Kumar Abrol, Sub-Judge (LRP), High Court Wing Jammu under Sections 376 and 420 of RPC by Police Station Janipur, Jammu, on the basis of a complaint lodged by the victim.
“The Judicial Officer is placed under suspension with immediate effect pending departmental inquiry initiated against the officer by the High Court,” said the order.
It further said that the officer shall remain attached to the office of the Registrar Judicial, J&K High Court, Jammu during the period of his suspension.
The High Court, however, also granted permission to arrest the Judicial Officer as police seeks permission for arrest of Sub-Judge.
