BJP will ensure corruption free regime in TN : Amit Shah

Chennai, Jul 10 : Sounding the poll bugle ahead of next year’s Lok Sabha election and harping on the corruption plank, BJP National President Amit Shah said his party would form an alliance and eventually ensure a corruption-free government in Tamil Nadu.
Addressing BJP’s polling booth in-charges from all the Parliamentary Constituencies in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry at the VGP Golden Beach Resort on the ECR about 30 km from here on Monday night, he said the
BJP would finalise the alliance ahead of the Lok Sabha election, by September-October.
He said the BJP, before finalising and forming the alliance, Prime Minister Narendra Modi would address a massive rally in Tamil Nadu in October in which 1.50 lakh booth-level workers would participate.
Exhorting the BJP Tamil Nadu unit to appoint representatives for all the 66,000-odd polling booths in the state by the end of September, Mr Amit Shah said ‘before 2019, we will make an announcement about the electoral alliance at the appropriate time.’
‘Whoever we enter into alliance, we will ensure a corruption-free government in Tamil Nadu, apart from maintenance of law and order and focusing on development,’ he added.
Observing that the BJP would ‘respect’ and ‘honour’ those parties already with the NDA in Tamil Nadu, he said it would also bring in new friends that would ensure a government that would provide clean governance like the BJP-led NDA at the Centre headed by Mr Modi.
Mr Shah, who earlier held detailed discussions with senior party leaders to devise the poll strategy, said the Centre has allocated about Rs.510,000 crore funds for various projects in Tamil Nadu in four years of its rule.
Without making any direct reference to the ruling AIADMK, Mr Shah accused the Opposition DMK of not doing enough to get the State’s due under the 13th Finance Commission, despite being part of of the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre.
Resisting the false campaign against the BJP in the State, he said BJP was the only party that would protect Tamil culture and Tamil language.
He also pointed out that it was the Modi government that first introduced Railway tickets in Tamil.
“Let me promise you, if BJP is elected to power in Tamil Nadu, Tamil pride will go beyond the borders, reaching across India,” he said.
