Over 6000 students appeared for integrated BG-PG progs in CUK
95 % appear in CUKAT-2017
Srinagar, Mar 19: Out of over 6000 students who had applied for admission to 5-year integrated programmes in Sciences and Law for the upcoming academic session in the Central University of Kashmir (CUK), 95 per cent appeared in the Central University of Kashmir Admission Test (CUKAT-2017) held on Sunday.
The test was conducted for the first time by Central University of Kashmir as an in-house arrangement delinking it from CUCET-2017.
The test was conducted for admission to Integrated B.Sc-M.Sc programmes in Physics, Zoology, Biotechnology, Mathematics and B.A L.L.B in the multiple centres in Srinagar city. The university had also established test centers at Jammu division and New Delhi for the students who had applied for admission to these programmes from other states of the country.
The CUK faculty, senior functionaries, officers, their allied staff and observers were actively involved in the examination process which was hassle free, smooth and fair. The whole process was appreciated by the parents of the students, who were accompanying their wards.
Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir, Registrar, Prof. Muhammad Afzal Zargar, Director Admissions, Prof. Abdul Gani, and Finance Officer, Mr. Bashir Ahmad Haji took stock of the examination process during their visit to various test centers. They were fully satisfied with the conduct of the examination and hailed the staff for successfully conducting the entrance test.
Pertinently, the process of admission for other programmes including various PG and Research Programmes has also been initiated and will be conducted through the consortium of ten central universities under the banner of CUCET-2017. Applications for shall be sought from March 20, 2017 and the examination in scheduled on 17th and 18th of May, 2017.
