KAS Mains in June first week
Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission will be conducting the ‘Mains’ part of Combined Competitive Examination by first or second week of June this year.
The J&K Combined Competitive (Preliminary) examination was conducted by the Commission on March 19 this year in 84 sub-centers, 54 in Jammu Region and 30 in Kashmir Region of the state in two shifts.
The Commission had received 48000 applications with 47110 of them registered for the exam. Remaining applications were rejected as there were some overage and underage candidates among the applicants. Some applications were rejected due to deficiencies in the documents submitted by the aspirants.
Total 36,370 candidates (80% of the registered applications), 21,209 in Jammu Region and 15,531 in Kashmir Region appeared in 84 sub-centers.
Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission, Shakeel-Ul-Rehman Rather told the News Now that the Commission will try its level best to conduct the KAS Mains Examination by first or second week of the June 2017.
Pertinently, it is expected that around 7000-8000 candidates will be shortlisted for the KAS Mains examination.
