Plantation drive by Skylight school at Pampore

Srinagar: On Arbor Day (March 30), students of Skylight Higher Secondary School, Pampore planted various species of trees at different locations in town.

In particular, a number of deodar trees were planted in Primary Health Centre, Ladoo where medical officer Dr Nusrat with other staff member also planted trees along with the students of the school.

 

A good number of people from the Ladoo village also participated in the drive who also hailed the enthusiastic approach and concern regarding preservation of our environment by planting trees by the young students of the school. Besides trees were also planted in Eid Ghah Chandhara, and inside the premises of Lass Sahib shrine in Meaj village.

On this occasion the dignitaries and participants in their brief speech highlighted the importance of trees in the preservation of our environment.

They impressed upon the students as well as the locals assembled in the premises to plant trees in abundance wherever possible as they are important for conservation of our environment and ecology.
