Election boycott a befitting reply to pro-India elements: Shabir Shah, appeals south Kmr to follow the suit

Calls for shutdown against civilian killings

Srinagar, April 9: Hailing the people of central Kashmir’s Srinagar, Budgam, and Ganderbal districts for boycotting the so-called elections, the incarcerated chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah on Sunday termed it a “befitting reply to pro-India elements”. He also called for complete shutdown on Monday against the civilian killings and on April 12 – the day so-called polls are scheduled to be held in south Kashmir.
“The boycott of sham elections has shown people’s pro-freedom sentiments and their rage against the pro-India parties and politicians,” Shah said in a statement issued to press adding the nation that remains steadfast on its mission ultimately succeed.
Shah expressed deep grief over the martyrdom of six youth saying the occupational forces didn’t spare people even on this day of “drama”.
“Despite the use of brute force against people, and arrests of resistance leadership and youth, people boycotted the so-called polls. By making police personnel, PSOs, Anganwari workers participate in elections, New Delhi cannot befool the world,” he said.
Terming the poll boycott in central Kashmir as “victory and good omen” for the freedom movement, Shah appealed the people of south Kashmir to follow the suit and “send a clear message to India that nothing less than FREEDOM is acceptable for us”.
The DFP chairman strongly condemned the reign of terror unleashed upon people saying pellets and bullets were showered on very people from whom “these puppets of India” are begging for votes. “They are monsters in human form.”
Expressing deep grief over the loss of lives of “brave” youth, Shah said nowhere in the world are people killed on election day but India in order to proclaim its fake victory resorts to such “inhuman” act.
“I appeal to the people of south Kashmir to teach a befitting reply to New Delhi and its puppets like the people of central Kashmir did today,” Shah said.
