Internet to be restored today: DGP

Srinagar: Director General of Police today said that Internet will be restored today in Kashmir Valley.

Talking to KNS, DGP S P Vaid said that the internet will be restored today.

Internet service was suspended in Kashmir Valley since mid night of April 08 due to bye-polls in Srinagar parliamentary constituency.

Earlier the authorities had ordered the suspension of internet till April 12, the day when by-polls were scheduled on Anantnag parliamentary constituency.

However, the polls were postponed till May 25 yesterday by Election Commission of India following very less turnout in Srinagar parliamentary constituency and killing of eight civilian youth by forces during protests and clashes on the polling day in Budgam Ganderbal Districts.
