Srinagar: A day before re-poll will be held in 38 violence hit polling stations in Budgam of Srinagar Lok Sabha seat, main opposition in the state National Conference (NC) expressed serious concern about the electoral process and sought certain safeguards and steps to uphold the integrity of the democratic process.

An NC spokesperson here today said that NC wrote a letter to the Chief Electoral Officer of Jammu and Kashmir and also to the Election Commission of India (ECI).

He said NC put on record serious apprehensions and concerns about the electoral process ahead of a re-poll in 38 booths of the Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency.

“The party sought specific safeguards and measures from the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) in the light of the unforeseen and unprecedented circumstances and the questionable role of the State Government and the Administration during election on April 9,” he said.
