Launch mutually beneficial projects in J&K, Governor to Norwegian investors

 

Srinagar: Complimenting the Norwegian government for sustained support to Human Development Programmes (HDPs) in India, Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra urged the investors to Norway launch mutually beneficial projects in the state.

Ambassador of Norway to India, Nils Ragnar Kamsvag called on Mr Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here today, an official spokesman said here this evening.

Mr Kamsvag discussed with the Governor issues relating to the implementation in J&K of the several programmes, under the Norway-India Partnership Initiative 2013-17.

Recalling his experiences as the founder Co-Chairman of the Indo-European Union Round Table (2001-08), the Governor complimented the Ambassador for his country’s sustained support to Human Development Programmes, particularly in the arena of Health, from which India had benefitted immensely through aid under NORAD.

The Governor invited the Ambassador to pay a longer visit to the State and view the fruitful possibilities which exist for Norwegian investors to launch mutually beneficial projects in J&K.

He also referred to the high potential of Indo-Norwegian collaboration in the education sector and fostering of joint research programmes in identified fields.
