Apex Committee on Tourism held in Srinagar

 

Srinagar: The apex committee on Tourism meeting was held in SKICC in which the experts from Ministry of Tourism GOI were briefed about the ongoing work on different projects under PMDP and PMRP, an official said.

The secretary Tourism and floriculture Farooq Ahmed Shah briefed the members about the said works specifically the integrated Development of tourist facility at Lal chowk-Khayam-Batmaloo-Bemina-Badamwari orchard,

Lakhanpur-Bhasoli-Bilawal-Ranjit sagar circuit, Integrated Development for model villages in a circuit mode and Integrated Development of religious places shrines heritage sites -forts.

The Secretary was accompanied by Director Tourism Kashmir, Jammu MD cable car, Joint Director planning and other officers of the Tourism Department who also provided the necessary input to the Apex team members.

Farooq Ahmed shah later gave a presentation to the delegates who are presently participating in a national scientific conference on communicable diseases. The secretary Tourism asked the Doctors to become brand ambassadors of Jammu Kashmir and organize such events and medical conferences in future also as Kashmir weather is most feasible for the same and he urged the delegates to initiate projects and programmes for promoting Kashmir for medical Tourism.
