Protests, Clashes witnessed in Kulgam, Anantnag
Kulgam: Several students were injured after clashes erupted between protesting students of Government Degree College and security forces in Kulgam district of south Kashmir.
Reports said that forces resorted to pellet firing and tear gas shelling to disperse students who were protesting against the student arrests.
Reports said that during the clashes a video journalist and a student were hit by pellets in their eyes adding that both were shifted to SMHS hospital in Srinagar.
Meanwhile clashes broke out in Dangerpora area of Anantnag town of south Kashmir after security forces allegedly thrashed a shopkeeper.
Reports said that the traders staged a protest against the alleged high-handedness of the forces, which was dealt with teargas shelling, triggering clashes and chaos in the area. The shopkeepers closed their shops as the students also joined the protest.
