J&K Yateem Foundation holds awareness programme in Kupwara

Kupwara: The speakers at the awareness programme on “Social Service with Truthfulness, Accountability & Transparency” organized by J&K Yateem Foundation at Town Hall Kupwara focused on creating a truthful, accountable and transparent structure for undertaking social service activities. They said the monetary and other resources needed to be utilized in a scrupulous and transparent manner for the welfare and rehabilitation of the poor orphans, widows and destitute.
Chief Guest Mohammad Abdullah Malik, retired Audit Officer and social activist stressed the need to inculcate sense of self accountability, humility and self introspection amongst the management of various NGOs and voluntary organizations. He urged cross section of people to come forward to reach out to the vulnerable sections with timely adequate support system so that they could be protected from waywardness, delinquencies and various forms of crime.
Guest of Honour Mohammad Yusuf Khan Mashhoor, poet & educationist, in his speech urged NGOs & voluntary organizations to evolve meticulous, professional and transparent financial expenditure mechanism so that the substantial budgetary resources could be utilized for the real welfare and rehabilitation of the destitute. He stressed the need to respect and protect the self respect of the beneficiaries and make them self reliant.
District President Teachers Forum Kupwara Mohammad Amin Khan appreciated the JKYF initiatives and called upon cross section of people to contribute their bit towards welfare and rehabilitation of the poor and needy.
District Representative JKYF Pulwama Mohammad Amin Bhat described the social service as inalienable part of muslim faith.
Shabir Ahmad from audience stressed the need to check the expenditures and remain vigilant of the misappropriation of donations.
District Representative Bashir Ahmad Pir presented overview of the activities and expenditure status under various welfare programmes of the Foundation.
JKYF film titled “Ehsaas e Shafaqat—Together with Orphans, Widows & Destitute” was screened during the programme.
The programme started with the recitation of Holy Qura’n by College student Irfan Ahmad Lone and Naat was presented by 10th Std student Usama Farooq.
JKYF Central Executive Committee member Ishaq Ahmad Sheikh presented vote of thanks.
The function concluded with the prayers (Dua) by senior educationist Mohammad Akbar Qursehi.
Senior Central Executive Committee members Bashir Ahmad Bhat, Mohammad Ishaq Sheikh, Sheikh Abdul Gani, Javaid Jawad, District Representatives Mohammad Iqbal Beigh, Mohammad Amin Bhat, Mohammad Yusuf Bhat and a galaxy of retired government officials, senior citizens, students (both boys & girls) and cross section of society also participated in the programme.
The proceedings were conducted by JKYF volunteer Mohammad Jaffar Shah.
