SPECIAL INITIATIVE FOR SPECIALLY ABLED CHILDREN
Pulwama, 25 May 2017. A Medical camp for the Awaam was organized by the Army at village Tsaraligund, Awantipura today with special focus on the specially abled children. Audiologist and Speech Language Therapist Mrs Neha Tiwari attended children with hearing and vision problems and advised the line of treatment. Free medical checkup was carried out and medicines were distributed in the camp.
A joint team of 12 Army and Civil doctors from SDH Tral including lady doctors and specialists attended the camp and provided quality medical treatment for the poor and needy sections of society of Awantipura and Tral region. Many patients were also referred to hospital for further specialized treatment. They were also educated about basic health, hygiene and sanitation, preventive measures to be taken against various diseases and drug abuse.
Over 1200 patients of all groups and gender from nearby villages of Tsaraligund benefitted from the initiative. Veterinary doctors were also present who treated more than 400 cattle during the camp.
