DDC Baramulla chairs DLRC meeting
SRINAGAR:District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash, today chaired District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting here to review the progress of banks as on March 31, 2017 in the district.
Officers of Line Departments, Financial Institute Representative of RBI and NABARD, and other concerned attended the meeting.
The meeting reviewed the progress and achievements made by the banks in implementation of various Government sponsored schemes.
On the occasion, the DDC was informed that under District credit plan 2016-17, district has recorded an achievement of 73.91% as on 31-03-2017. It was also informed that 55108 beneficiaries benefited under District credits plan 2016-17 and an amount of Rs 1460.63 crore have been disbursed among them under various schemes including Rs 907.26 crore on agriculture front, Rs 142.37 crore on small enterprise sector, Rs 22.29 crore on service sector and Rs 388.71 crore on non priority sector.
The DDC said that banks and various financial institutions in the district must play their role for the economic progress of the district and emphasized on the need to make the national mission of cash less economy possible in the district. He impressed the officers to work in coordination to make the digital payment system a success in the district. He also stressed for organizing awareness programmes at village level to generate proper awareness about use of cashless transactions among the people.
