Two army men killed, four injured in Qazigund militant attack
Highway closed for vehicular moment, Hizib Claims responsibility
SRINAGAR: Two army men were killed and four others injured on Saturday after militants attacked their convoy in Lower Munda area of Qazigund in Anantnag district.
Reports said that militants opened fire on the convoy moving on the Srinagar-Jammu highway near Qazigund, resulting into injuries to six troopers. The injured were shifted to a hospital for treatment where two of them succumbed.
A search operation was launched in the area to nab the attackers, officials said. Following the attack the 300-km long strategic highway has also been closed for vehicular moment.
Meanwhile Hizibul Mujahideen militant outfit claims the responsibility of the attack, according to news gathering agency.
