NEW DELHI:(UNI) Giving momentum to its activities regarding selection of Opposition candidates for the coming Presidential and Vice Presidential polls, the Congress has formed a sub-group to work on the matter.
AICC General Secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad told reporters here after the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting here that the sub-group would talk to other Opposition parties to arrive at a consensus candidate.
Presidential polls will be held, followed by elections for the post of Vice President in August.
President Pranab Mukherjee is completing his first five-year-term next month, while Vice President Hamid Ansari will be completing his second term in August.
