Forest Protection Force Kashmir intensifies its operations in South Kashmir

SRINAGAR: Forest Protection Force Kashmir launched various Anti- encroachment and Anti- smuggling operations in various parts of South Kashmir. As per reports recieved,an Anti- encroachment operation was launched yesterday jointly by Forest Protection Force personnel of Anantnag Gamma Unit,Harnag and Territorial staff of Anantnag Forest Division in Compartment No 96 of notorious kuthar Forest Range of Anantnag Forest Division.T he encroachment was destroyed and Encroached Forest Land was successfully retrieved back.FPF personnel from Reporting centre Awoora had set up nakas at various places and were checking suspiciously moving vehicles in the evening.
In another operation Forest Protection Force personnel of Lidder Gamma Unit raided a house of a person namely Ali Mohammad Shah S/o Gulzar Ahmad Shah at Bagandar,
Manchama in Tral Forest Range. illicit timber in the form of wooden doors and windows approximately 7nos equal to 20 cft were seized on the spot. The alleged offender escaped from the spot.A massive manhunt has been launched to nab the culprit.
Night Raids were conducted by Forest Protection Force in District Kulgam also. Two kail trees felled on a private land by unknown persons in Kulgam range was seized by FPF personnel there during night.
In Shopian massive surprise search and checking operations have been launched in Zawoora forests of Shopian Forest Division.The operations was going on when this report was filed.An FPF official pleading anonymity said”we are under orders from higher ups to tighten the noose around Forest damagers and to intensify checking in South Kashmir”
