SRINAGAR: Senior APHC leader and Chairman of Islamic Political Party – JK, Mohammad Yousuf Naqash has expressed deep sorrow over the civilian killings by forces and has supported the shutdown call by the joint leadership on Saturday to mourn the killings.

Naqash also expressed grief over the martyrdom of top Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander Junaid Mattoo and his aide who were martyred in the encounter with forces in Arwani village of Bijbehara.

In a press release, Naqash condemned the martyrdom of two civilians Naseer Ahmad and Mohammad Ashraf after forces fired on protesters in Rangreth and Arwani area of Srinagar and Anantnag.

He strongly condemned the blasting of two houses in Arwani by forces and said it has become a routine to destroy the residential houses.

Paying tributes to martyred armed youth Junaid Mattoo and his aide, the Hurriyat leader said New Delhi’s stubbornness will cost it heavily as it is clearly written on the wall that Kashmiris won’t surrender before Indian oppression but will continue struggling for their birth right of freedom from occupational rule.

Naqash said the sooner New Delhi realizes and acknowledged the ground reality in Kashmir, the better it would be for India.
