KTMF president, dozen others detained in Srinagar
SRINAGAR: Over 20 traders, including president of the Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Forum (KTMF), were today taken into custody whey they were trying to march towards Legislature complex, on the first day of the special session called to discuss implementation of Goods and Services Tax (GST).
The KTMF has called for a general strike in the Kashmir valley alleging that implementation of the GST will erode financial and political autonomy of the state.
Led by president Mohammad Yaseen Khan, the traders associated with KTMF appeared at historic Lal Chowk, where they held sit-in against the GST. (UNI)
