SRINAGAR: Condemning lynching of a police officer by a mob near historic Jamia Masjid in downtown Srinagar, lone CPI (M) MLA Mohammad, Yousuf Tarigami, said such brutal acts can only lead to anarchy, which is harmful for the society.
“It is a heinous crime committed by miscreants – killing a young officer.
The whole society must condemn such brutal and barbaric act.
Such incidents can only lead to anarchy,” Mr Tarigami.
However, the MLA alleged that insensitivity shown by the Police Department by asking a single officer to be in a place which is prone to protests and stone pelting without backup should also be looked into. (UNI)
