DIG, CKR inaugurates T-20 Cosco Tourney in Budgam
SRINAGAR: In its efforts to enhance the sports talent of the youth, Jammu and Kashmir police has organized a T-20 Cosco tournament at District Police Lines Budgam. The Tournament was today inaugurated by Deputy Inspector General of Police, Central Kashmir Range, G.H Bhat.
In his inaugural address to the participants DIG said that the J&K police is providing a platform to the youth of the state to harness their capabilities in the field of sports. A number of programmes are organised every year in all the districts of Kashmir as well. He extorted the youth to work hard in the fields that they chose and strive for excellence. He hoped that the youth will take full use of the opportunity and will show their talents in the field as well in this tournament.
A total of 64 teams from different parts of District Budgam and Srinagar are participating in the event. The inaugural match was played between Star Boys Bagwanpora and Sheik-ul Alam, Shekhpora. The live score of the match can be seen from the mobile app “Crichereos” on android phones. In the opening match Sheikh Alam Sheikhpora while batting first scored 94 runs for 9 wickets in their limited 12 overs and in reply Star Boys Bagwanpora managed to score only 69 runs and lost by 25 runs.
Besides respectable of the area, Shri Mohammad Haroon, D.C Budgam, Tejinder Singh, SSP Budgam, Vinod Karthak C.O CRPF 43 Bn, Amod Ashok Nagpure ASP, Budgam, Mir Rasheeq DySP DAR Budgam and Captains of all the teams were also present and other senior officers of the District Budgam were present at the inaugural function.
