HC orders to lift life ban on Sreesanth

Kochi: Inflicting a blow on the stand taken by the Board of Control for Cricket India (BCCI) in the Team India former pacer S Sreesanth’s issue, the Kerala High Court today directed it to lift the lifetime-ban imposed on him by the BCCI in connection with the 2013 Indian Premier League (IPL) spot-fixing case.
The Kerala lad, had been fighting for justice since his acquittal, but BCCI continued to hold out and didn’t lift the life ban imposed on him.
The High court order lifting his ban was a great relief to him after a long legal battle.
Though the BCCI Disciplinary Committee had banned him from the sport following the allegation of spot-fixing along with other two Rajasthan Royal teammates for spot-fixing in IPL-6, the Delhi Sessions court had exonerated him in the case registered by the Delhi police in 2015.
Though Sreesanth had knocked the doors of the BCCI to revoke his ban, all the time they out rightly rejected his plea stating it would not compromise on its zero tolerance policy towards corruption.  (UNI)
