PMO should explain ‘assurances’ given to Mehbooba: Omar M Hussain / Mujeeb Ul Feroz

Srinagar: Opposition leader and NC Working president Omar Abdullah Friday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s office should explain “assurance” that the chief minister Mehbooba Mufti has been given during her meeting with PM over protecting Article 35 A.

“Excuse us if we no longer believe what @MehboobaMufti says after she comes out from these meetings. Can @PMOIndia explain ‘assurances’ pls (sic)?,” Omar tweeted minutes after Mehbooba came out of the meeting with PM and said PM gave her “100 percent assurance.”

“If every assurance @MehboobaMufti claimed to have received had been fulfilled J&K would be largely trouble free today,” Omar tweeted.

The chief minister who had flown to New Delhi Thursday met the PM today in Parliament office in the afternoon amid the row over a petition on striking down of Article 35A before a three bench of Supreme Court.
