Malik released from Central Jail in Srinagar
Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief Yasin Malik, who was arrested and lodged in Central Jail in Srinagar on Monday, was released this evening.
A JKLF spokesperson here today said a local court granted Malik bail following which he was released from the jail this evening.
He said the JKLF chief has reached his Maisuma residence in civil lines, Srinagar.
Malik was arrested on August 14 in central Kashmir district of Budgam when he was on way to attend the funeral of a top Hizbul Mujahideen militant, Yasin Itoo alias Mehmood Gaznavi at his native village in Chadoora.
Itoo, besides two other militants, Umar Majeed Mir and Irfan Sheikh were killed in the encounter with security forces on August 13 in south Kashmir, where two youth died in the subsequent clashes. Two soldiers were also killed and three others injured in the encounter which lasted for over 12 hours.
