​Despite promises; PHC Gutlibagh lacs basic facilities, suffer people in Central Ganderbal

Ganderbal, (KPS): The Primary Health (PHC) has again laid bare the shameful and gloomy level of the State primary healthcare system in fiercely dense area of Gutlibag at Central Ganderbal

 

established in 2013, by MLA Kangan Main.Altaf is still without proper facilities, leaving patients with no option but to go out of area for simple treatment.

 

The PHC was established by MLA Kangan, Even after four years, nothing seems to have been done to develop infrastructure of PHC, resulting in sufferings to the patients who come from areas only to see themselves being asked to visit hospitals in Ganderbal or Soura.

 

As per the details available with Kashmir Age, the Primary Health Center (PHC) in the area caters to a huge population, like Prang, Gutlibagh. Gaba-Wayi and adjoining forest areas including large number of Gojer Basti,s. However, the hospital fails to meet the expectations of the people due to lack of staff and key diagnostic facilities.

 

 

“Since its establishment, this PHC has not been upgraded or giving other facilities of Water, electricity which causing a lot of troubles to patients and attendants, Yaqoob Khan said.

 

 

There are not sufficient doctors to attend to the huge rush of people only one male doctor is available there and no any female doctors attached there which can be added more woves of patients, he said.

 

 

The Locals here have accused neglecting the lone health centre of the area which caters to thousands of people in Gutlibagh and adjoining villages. The PHC sans proper facilities like power, doctors and many other machinery facilities   which causing immense inconvenience to patients in every season, they added.

 

 

The health center is without the facility of ECG. X-ray, other testing facilities and all other essential machinery which could be life savior to many patients. There is lone ambulance in PHC Gutlibagh which some times causing more problem and is not sufficient for large number of population, they said.

 

People of the area have demanded development of infrastructure and posting of adequate staff other essential machinery in the health centre so that patients are spared from further suffering.

 

When KPS contacted CMO office, he was not present in their office for comment.
