Hyderabad: Retired IAS officer and Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) former Executive officer PVRK Prasad died of cardiac arrest at a corporate hospital here.
He was 77 and survived by wife, a daughter and a son.
Prasad, an IAS officer of Andhra Pradesh cadre, held several important responsibilities, including Executive Officer of TTD and Chairman of Vizag Port Trust, during his career.
He had established Sri Venkateswara Employees Training Authority (SVETA), modernised TTD press and launched the scheme of distribution of religious books as ‘pustaka prasadam’ during the festive days.
Prasad, who was Additional Secretary and Media Advisor to former Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao, authored several popular books in Telugu, including ‘Naham Kartha’, ‘Asalem Jarigindante’ (Wheels behind the veil), ‘Tirumala Leelamrutham’ and ‘Tirumala Charitamrutam’. (UNI)
