Are chilli bombs, pepper grenades, pellet guns only for protesting Kashmiris asks Omar

Srinagar:  Reacting to reports that stone pelting and violent clashes have erupted at many places in Haryana , former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah today asked if chilli bombs, pepper grenades and pellet guns were kept only for protesting Kashmiris.

Violent clashes have reportedly erupted at many places in Haryana after a CBI Special Court found guilty Sirsa-based Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in a rape case of 2002.

“Chilli bombs? Pepper grenades? Pellet guns? Do the forces keep those only for protesting Kashmiris?,” Mr Abdullah, who is the working president of National  Conference (NC), wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.

Meanwhile, in an apparent jibe at people, who supported use of a civilian as a human shield by Army to evade stone pelting in April in central Kashmir district of Budgam, he asked why no human shield was used in Panchkula in Haryana. “No human shields in Panchkula? Tried & tested crowd control technique much appreciated in many TV news studios not long ago,” he said.

“In light of the mounting death toll I again repeat this tweet about the “non-lethal crowd control” measures used extensively in Kashmir,” Mr Abdullah added.

Lashing out at the Haryana Chief Minister, the NC working president said Prime Minister Narendra Modi should sack him for gross dereliction of duty as he had more than enough time to prepare for the eventuality. “PM Modi should sack his Haryana CM for gross dereliction of duty. The CM had more than enough time to prepare for this eventuality,” he said.

Reacting to IGP, Hisar, Amitabh Singh Dhillon comment that everything is perfectly under control, Mr Abdullah said seems all the visuals of violence are just fake news; the OB vans are self-inflicting damage.

“Seems all the visuals of violence are just fake news. These guys have everything under control. OB vans are self-inflicting damage,” Mr Abdullah said.
