Handwara : Handwara police today destroyed bung cultivation in Kuhroo, Guloora and Batapora locality of Langate area spread over a vast patch of land.The special drive was led by Dysp Dar Handwara, Farooq Ahmad wani and In-charge PP Langate ,under the supervision of SSP Handwara Shri Ghulam Jeelani wani.
SSP Handwara, said that they have started a special drive to destroy bung cultivation in Handwara “We have initiated the drive from Kuhroo and Guloora and it will continue for next 3-4 days across the division. We had inputs that some youth have became habitual of using the same for the consumption and getting indulged in anti- social activities in the area, that is why we have started a drive to destroy the cultivation in the area.” he said.He also thanked the civil society members of the area and the youths for their active co- operation in the process.SSP Handwara appealed to the parents to keep a strict vigil on the activities of their children and report the cases of drug addiction and other anti- social activities to the police for their redressal.
