Tourism, hydel power generation, forestry would be developed in HP: Rajnath Singh

Mandi : Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today said tourism, hydel power generation and forestry would be preserved and developed in Himachal Pradesh in a big way to harness enormous tourism potential of the hill state.

He said the successive Congress governments had, over the past 72 years, done precious little in this direction or the the state had the potential of becoming another Switzerland.

The central government had provided Rs 200 crore to Himachal Pradesh to develop tourism, but nothing worthwhile had been done by the Congress government which was allegedly involved in corruption from head to toe. He said the BJP government would leave no stone unturned to make this state one of most prosperous states of the country.

Mr Singh said he hailed from Bari Kashi and as such he had great obsession for the legendary historic town of temples., known as the Chhoti Kashi. It is a mystery for him why this world famous heritage town was de-linked with the national highway network of over 70 national highways of the country.

He addressed a series of public meetings for two days in Mandi district.

BJP spokesperson Shah Nawaz Husain also addressed a public meeting at Kataula in this district and claimed that more than 97 percent Muslims were nationalist and patriots and this country had graced them on the highest post in the country. He called upon the minority communities to support the BJP.
