New Delhi, Nov 9 : The thick blanket of smog covering the skyline of the national capital, apart from creating a health emergency, also impacted the rail traffic severely, leading to delay in arrival of 41 trains, rescheduling of nine and cancellation of ten trains.
According to the weatherman, the condition of Delhi would remain similar in the coming few days, as burning of crop residue in the neighbouring states of Punjab and Haryana was continuing.
Smog is here to stay, he added.
The levels of suspended particulate matter in the national capital were described as hazardous by the Delhi Pollution Control Committee, reaching 10 tines more than rhe safe limit.
