Srinagar, Nov 15 : Security forces on Wednesday resumed search operation in the woods in the south Kashmir district of Kulgam, where a Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militant and a soldier were killed and a police constable injured in an encounter.

Official sources said that security forces have resumed search operation in the Now Bugh Kund forest with the first light early this morning.
It is believed that three to four militants are still hiding deep in the forest, where one militant was killed yesterday, when a soldier also lost his life.

Rashtriya Rifles (RR), Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF launched a joint search operation in Nowbugh Kund in Kulgam early Tuesday morning following a tip-off about the presence of militants.
Later encounter ensued after militants opened fire on search party.
