Life returns to normalcy after day-long shutdown in Kashmir

Srinagar, Nov 20: Life returned to normalcy on Monday in Kashmir after a day-long shutdown called by separatists against frequent Cordon and Search Operations (CASOs) and killing of militants in the valley.

Meanwhile, curfew-like restrictions imposed for the past two days as a precautionary measure were lifted from downtown and Shehar-e-Khas (SeK) besides parts of the civil lines in Srinagar on Monday.

Shops and business establishments were reopened and traffic was playing on all routes normally in the summer capital, Srinagar, where some busy routes witnessed traffic jam in civil lines and uptown.
Work in the government offices and banks was also normal.

Train service also resumed on Monday after remaining suspended for two days for security reasons in Kashmir valley.
