Srinagar, Nov 21 : Three militants were killed in a fierce encounter by security forces in the frontier district of Kupwara, where search operations were going on at two other places also on Tuesday.
Official sources said that Rashtriya Rifles (RR), Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF launched a joint search operation at Kumar Mohalla, Magam, Ananwan and Hachburg in Kupwara following a tip off about the presence of militants.
All exit points in these areas were closed and search operations launched, they said.
