IAS reshuffle: 20 officers appointed to Joint Secretary level posts

New Delhi, Nov 21: The Central Government on Tuesday reshuffled 20 IAS officers to the level of Joint Secretary in various departments, including Defence, Home Affairs and Culture.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved the appointments of these Civil Officers, including three officials in Home department, two each in Defence and Culture and one each in Commerce, Land Resources, Rural Development and Education, among others.

According to a statement issued here, Rajeev Singh Thakur, IAS (1995), was appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Defence, while Ravi Kant, IOFS (1986), currently serving as Joint Secretary, Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, was appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Defence.

Hari Prasad Pudi, IRAS (1994), was given the charge of Joint Secretary, Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, while Kumar Vinay Pratap, IES (1992), was chosen for the post of Joint Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs.

Kamran Rizvi, IAS, was appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Rural Development, while Sachin Sinha, IAS, was given the charge of Joint Secretary, Department of School Education and Literacy.
