Anantnag, Dec 4 : Government forces this afternoon engaged militants in a gunbattle at Badragund-Bonigam in Qazigund area of Kulgam district of south Kashmir, official sources said.
They said the gunbattle preceded an attack carried out by militants on an army patrol in the area this morning.
The government forces immediately, after the attack of militants, cordoned the area and engaged the militants in a gunbattle, they said.
There was no report of any casualty on either side when last reports were received.
