Rail service resumes in Kashmir

Srinagar, Dec 9 : Train service resumed on Saturday after remaining suspended for security reasons in the Kashmir valley, where separatists had called for protests after Friday prayers against the US move to declare Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

”We have resumed train service in the valley,” a railway official said.

He said all trains will run as per schedule from Srinagar-Badgam in the central Kashmir to Baramulla in north.
Similarly, the trains will also chug on Srinagar-Anantnag-Qazigund in south Kashmir Banihal in Jammu region track, he added.
He said rail service was suspended yesterday after receiving an advisory from the police.
