Srinagar, Dec 20 : Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (HC) Mirwaiz Moulvi Omar Farooq has been put under house arrest while there was no relief for chairman of HC Syed Ali Shah Geelani (G)in Srinagar.
However, official sources said restrictions on separatists has been imposed to prevent any demonstration.
Mirwaiz was put under house arrest since last night, a spokesman of the HC said.He said a state police and security forces had been deployed outside the Nigeen house of Mirwaiz, who has been informed that he cannot leave till further orders.Mr Geelani remained under house arrest at his Hyderpora residence, where a large number of security forces had been deployed.
