Muzaffarnagar, Dec 31 : A gangster carrying a reward of Rs100,000 on his head was killed in an encounter with police in Jansath area here late on Saturday night.
One police constable was also injured in the shootout.
According to senior superintendent of police Anant Dev Tiwari, gangster Shamim was wanted in more than 24 criminal cases, including murder, loot and dacoity. He was among the prime accused in Rs40 lakh robbery case in Daryaganj, Delhi.
Delhi Police and UP Police had put a reward of Rs50,000 each on Shamim’s head
