Foreigner nabbed with forged passport at IGI Airport

New Delhi, Jan 11 : The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) nabbed a foreigner with a forged passport at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport here.
On Wednesday at about 0930 hrs, CISF surveillance and intelligence staff at Airport spotted a passenger roaming suspiciously in check-in area of terminal-3. He was intercepted and enquired.

On questioning, he produced a passport in the name of Kouadio Bertin, PP No. 17AL9582 (Cote D Ivories) and a ticket of flight bound for Addis Ababa (Ethiopia).

“Later after examination of the passport, it was revealed that the photo affixed on the passport did not match with the face of the said passenger and proved to be a case of impersonation”, a CISF release stated here on Thursday.

Thereafter, the apprehended passenger was taken to random baggage checking point for thorough checking of his baggage. During checking, another Nigerian Passport in the name of Charles Johnson Oka was recovered from the pocket of his one of the trousers kept in his registered baggage.

Further, the said traveler along-with all the documents was handed over to Immigration officials. After examination by Immigration, it came to light that the Nigerian passport was in the name of Charles Johnson Oka was forged and the passport with 17AL9582 number (Cote D Ivories) in the name of Kouadio Bertin was also fake.

Later, nabbed passenger along-with recovered forged Passport and documents was handed to Delhi Police for further legal action, further said the release.
