Mirwaiz expresses sorrow over death of 10-year-old boy in Shopian

SRINAGAR, FEB, 01 : All Parties Hurriyat (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Thursday expressed sorrow over the death of 10-year-old boy in Shopian, who succumbed to injuries on Thursday morning.

Expressing grief on Twitter, Mirwaiz wrote: “Pained to lose Little Musharraf! the child victim of the Indian states strategy of use of its immense military might to kill &crush a civilian population demanding fundamental human and political rights.With his death,the number of civilians killed in #Shopian has reached five!.”

Pertinently, the 10-year-old boy, identified as Musharraf Fayaz son of Fayaz Ahmad Najar succumbed today morning at SKIMS, Hospital in Srinagar.

Musharraf was critically injured after a shell went off near his home in Darandora village in district Shopian on January 25.

With his death, the civilian death toll has risen up to 05 since January 25 in district Shopian.

On January 24, two local militants, Firdous Ahmad and Sameer Ahmad, were killed in a gunfight while a civilian Shakir Ahmad Mir, 17, was shot dead by the forces and two girls were injured during clashes at Chaigund Audoo Shopian.

On January 27, Javed Ahmad Bhat (20) and Suhail Javed Lone (24) were killed by army after they (army) fired on civilian in Gawanpora village in Shopian.

On January 31, third youth identified as Rayees Ahmad Ganie, injured in army firing, succumbed to injuries. (PTK)
