Srinagar, Feb 16 : Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha on Friday assured Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to look into the complaints of increase in flight fare between Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir.
Ms Mufti shared this information on micro blogging site Twitter and wrote “Spoke to @jayantsinha ji about the increase in flight fares between Delhi & J&K.
Tourism is the backbone of our state’s economy & he has assured me that he will look into the matter.
”
After the recent snowfall, ending about two-month-long dry spell in the Kashmir Valley, there were reports about manifold increase in the air-fare.
The closure of the national highway, the only road linking the Kashmir valley with the rest of the country, also led to increase in the airfare.
