Palghar, Mar 2 : A 40-year-old woman was roasted alive and her husband injured severely in a fire that broke out in their house in Khairpada locality of valiv in the district, police said on Friday.
Police said Manju Gosai (40) was roasted alive in the fire that broke out in the house at about 2130 hrs on the night of February 28, 2018, last.
Her husband Brijesh Gosai (45) fell unconscious with injuries on his head and hand and had to be rushed to the hospital where he was being treated presently.
The local firemen rushed to the scene immediately after the call but could not save the lady as she was already dead but rushed the husband to the hospital.
Additional SP Raj Tilak Roshan of Vasai Zone told newsmen that a case of accidental death had been registered and the cause of fire was said to be short circuit.
