Aligarh, Mar 29 : A notorious criminal carrying a reward of Rs 25,000 on his head, has been arrested after encounter with police in Dehli gate area here, police said here on Thursday.
According to police sources, two suspects were intercepted in Dehli Gate area late on Wednesday night, who opened fire on police. In retaliatory firing, a criminal was injured, while his accomplice managed to flee.
The injured, identified as Pinki alias Subhash, was shifted to hospital. Many criminal cases, including murder, loot and dacoity, were registered against him in several police stations. A reward of Rs 25,000 was announced on his arrest.
A manhunt was launched to nab the absconding criminal, police added.
