BSNL Kashmir holds third Telecom advisory committee meet
Srinagar: BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited), Kashmir conducted the third Telecom advisory committee meeting today at Srinagar with the co-chairman of Dr. Farooq Abdullah Hon’ble Member Parliament Srinagar.
The chairman Sh. Mohammad Zaffar Iqbal GMT Srinagar welcomed the members and apprised them of the various developmental initiatives being taken up by the BSNL for augmenting and provisioning of the telecom facilities to length and breadth of the valley.
While lauding the role of the BSNL, the Hon’ble MP Srinagar Dr. Farooq Abdullah impressed upon for outreach to the rural and hinterland viz Gurez, Tangdhar, Machil, Keran and Kanzalwan. Dr. Abdullah was apprised that the Solar Panel for electrification of the BTS is required on similar lines like that of Kargil where the state Govt has provided the Solar panel equipment on subsidiary rates. Further extension of overhead Optical fibre from Kupwara to Tangdar on the PDD alignment needs to be examined and executed with the help of state authorities. While speaking to the GOC on phone during the meeting, Dr. Abdullah sought his cooperation in providing the logistic for setting up of the BSNL towers to the far flung areas where army jawan are stationed, so that they will be able to be in touch with their families.
