BSF soldier killed in Pak firing on IB in Samba


Jammu, May 15 (UNI) A soldier of BSF on Tuesday attained martyrdom as Pakistan violated the ceasefire by firing unprovoked along international border in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Pakistan fired unprovoked and targetted forward Border Outposts during wee hours along international border in Samba,” official spokesman here said.
He said that one BSF soldier, identified as Constable Devendra Singh, deployed at Manguchak border outpost was injured seriously and later succumbed to injuries in a hospital.
“The BSF effectively retaliated the fire and the intermittent Aexchange of fire continued for around 3 hours,” said the spokesman.
The BSF was on high alert for the last couple of days, as there were inputs of militants’ infiltration from across the border in Samba and Kathua areas.
